A SMART DIVING CENTER
'
The small diving centre which I work with since so many years, 2005 if I recall well, was originally recommended to me by well-advanced divers, clients of mine, who became my friends, they gave me most of the beautiful photos for my website.
I have never been deceived by the services of this diving instructor. J. takes good care of you and doesn’t do in crowd diving, he has all the necessary diving certificates and delivers you a diploma once you have passed the diving christening. He also has all abilities to fill out your diving carnet after the outings.
He works with quality and patience and reassures those who are not feeling too reassured at first, which is very sensible for this outing. He is well equipped, but if you have your own scuba flippers, don’t hesitate and bring them along.
This outing is well sought after, please book well in advance, last minutes bookings are often refused, thank you.
IN THE NORTH AND NORTH-WEST
The main diving sites on Mauritius
Holt's Rock, in front of Trou Aux Biches, on the North-West coast, to admire some Javanese’s Moray eels of more than 2 meters long.
The Wall, in front of Round island (islands of the North of Mauritius), to cross only fishes angel semicircular whom I have never seen around Mauritius (while we find them very easily in the Seychelles for example). For the vertical wall which shelters a small fixed fauna and for the sandy bottom and its lines stingrays of beautiful.
Silver Star, between Trou aux Biches and Grand Bay, Northwest coast, to discover the deepest wreck off Mauritius. The bottom is situated at 40 meters on some sand, the visit of the wreck promises some shoals of fish, beautiful jack fish, sometimes a small shark. Very beautiful in the big blue.
Stella Maru, off Trou aux Biches , Northwest coast: another wreck, less deep (less than 25 meters) and thus more accessible. A quantity of fishes elected took up residence there, among which a Javanese moray eel, fishes lions, etc. … and nearby a beautiful reef stuffed with fauna.
IN THE EAST
The Pass of Belle Mare, in front of the hotel Belle Mare Plage East coast: to derive in the current and in not much depth (less strong than in the Maldives but as much funny), to meet the big ones (rays, tunas, sharks).
Three Anchors, in front of the hotel Belle Mare Plage East coast: to meet sharks, tunas with dog teeth, beautiful ray fishes, and three old anchors which remind of the rich history of Mauritius, its naval battles and its piracies.
IN THE WEST
Rampart Snake, off Flic-en-Flac on the West: a site stuffed with all that the Indian Ocean considers as venomous under the water in particular the stone fishes, scorpion fishes, lion fishes, etc. … Don’t touch anything, even the sandy bottom.
The Cathedral, off Flic-en-Flac, west coast, for light shafts created by the sun rays in the cliff. Very attractive for the amateurish photographers.
